“Money for the Rest of Us Plus is one of the best investments I have ever made.” – Uzi Kilon, Plus Member

You don’t want to pay 1% of your portfolio to an advisor every year.

You’ve done the math on what that costs over time: hundreds of thousands of dollars or more.

You also don’t want to wing it with free Substacks, Reddit threads, and CNBC. You’ve watched enough market cycles to know they can be unreliable.

You want what institutional investors have: a disciplined framework for thinking about portfolios, real data instead of marketing material, and a practitioner whose judgment you can trust because you can see the work.

That’s what Plus Membership is.

Built by an institutional investor who managed billions

David Stein spent nine years as Chief Investment Strategist and Chief Portfolio Strategist at FEG Investment Advisors, a $15 billion institutional advisory firm where he advised and managed investments for endowments, foundations, and high-net-worth families.

For the past 12 years, he has done the same work in public through the Money for the Rest of Us podcast (over 25 million downloads), a McGraw-Hill book, and a membership community that has helped thousands of investors

David strategized and invested through the Asian financial crisis, the dot-com bubble, the 2008 financial crisis and Great Recession, the 2020s’ COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent market volatility, and every other economic moment that mattered between 1995 and today. The work you’ll see in Plus Membership is the same work he did for institutional clients, now built for serious individuals.

“I enjoy the way David explains how markets and financial concepts work and how to apply common sense ideas to investing. David has a soothing style that interjects thought-provoking ideas, concepts, and entertaining stories on broader topics that intertwine with life and investing.” – Max Wexler, Plus Member

Money for the Rest of Us Plus: What You Get

Vetted Model Portfolios With a 10-Year Track Record,
Matched to Your Risk Profile

Each portfolio holds only ETFs and has no proprietary products, no kickbacks, and no conflicts of interest. The composition, weights, and reasoning are visible to you the moment you join.

David manages these model portfolios in real time and adjusts when conditions warrant (about 1.5 changes per year on average over the past 11 years). When changes happen, you see the adjustment, the reasoning, and the data that drove it.

What Plus Membership Is Not

We’re not a stock-picking service. We don’t chase the latest theme. We don’t promise to time markets.

We don’t claim our framework predicts what stocks will do next quarter. It doesn’t. What it does is help you make calibrated portfolio decisions across the levers that actually matter, based on real data and three decades of institutional experience.

The Value of Plus Membership

A single hour with a fee-only fiduciary advisor typically costs $300–$500.

A 1% AUM advisor on a $1M portfolio costs $10,000 per year, every year.

Plus gives you the same institutional-quality thinking, uses the same data sources, the same analytical framework, and the same kind of disciplined portfolio management for $450 a year, with no AUM fees and no conflicts of interest.

You maintain control and save money by doing the implementation yourself, while we do the support work that helps make your implementation low-anxiety and defensible.

Here is a demographic profile of Plus Members.

Q. How often is new content added to Money for the Rest of Us Plus?

A. New content is added weekly. There is a new member-only Plus podcast episode on most weeks. Additional content added throughout the month includes the Investment Conditions and Strategy Report with audio commentary, David’s portfolio profile with audio commentary, and additional video and audio lessons as needed. Model portfolios are monitored and updated on an ongoing basis. The long-term asset allocation assumptions are updated on an as-needed basis, usually at least every six months.

Q. What happens after I purchase a membership?

As soon as you purchase your membership you will have immediate access to the full Money for the Rest of Us website. You’ll be taken to an introductory video that will give you an orientation of the Plus content and how to get the most out of your membership. At the same time, you will also be sent two emails. Q. Does Money for the Rest of Us Plus contain model portfolios for individuals with different goals, life stages, and risk profiles?

A. Yes. The site contains over a dozen model portfolios with specific ETF fund holdings weights ranging from “Ultra-Conservative” to “Aggressive” risk profiles. There are adaptive models that adjust based on market conditions and simple static models that do not change. Please note the model portfolios contain ETFs and mutual funds that trade on U.S. exchanges. There is a list of substitute UCITS holdings for European investors. The site also contains an asset allocation modeling spreadsheet so you can compare different asset allocation scenarios to evaluate their expected rates of return and risk of capital loss.

Q. Will I be able to see all of David Stein’s investment holdings?

A. Yes. You will also see his overall asset allocation weights and portfolio trades.

Q. Why does annual membership cost $450 per year?

A. Money for the Rest of Us Plus is not an investment newsletter. It is a comprehensive multi-media investment education platform with professional-grade portfolio tools and training. We draw upon institutional investment and economic research services that cost tens of thousands of dollars per year to access. To put it in perspective, an annual membership to Money for the Rest of Us Plus costs less than one credit hour at most U.S. 4-year colleges, which ranges from $230 to $1,150 according to the College Board.
