Q. Who is the target market?
A. Money for the Rest of Us Plus is for individuals who are serious about managing and growing their net worth by accessing professional-grade portfolio tools and training. Members are asset-class-focused and not interested in gimmicks or the latest hot stock picks. Members’ portfolio sizes range from less than $100,000 to over $5 million. More than 50% of members have investable assets greater than $1 million. Money for the Rest of Us Plus has a global membership that lives in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, and elsewhere. Here is a demographic profile of Plus members.
Q. How often is new content added to Money for the Rest of Us Plus?
A. New content is added weekly. There is a new member-only Plus podcast episode on most weeks. Additional content added throughout the month includes the Investment Conditions and Strategy Report with audio commentary, David’s portfolio profile with audio commentary, and additional video and audio lessons as needed. Model portfolios are monitored and updated on an ongoing basis. The long-term asset allocation assumptions are updated on an as-needed basis, usually at least every six months.
Q. What happens after I purchase a membership?
As soon as you purchase your membership you will have immediate access to the full Money for the Rest of Us website. You’ll be taken to an introductory video that will give you an orientation of the plus content and how to get the most out of your membership. At the same time, you will also be sent two emails. One will be a receipt of your purchase. The other will be the first email in a series that will highlight different parts of your plus membership. If you have any questions you can reply to these emails and we will be happy to help.
Q. Will my membership automatically renew?
Monthly and annual Money for the Rest of Us memberships are set up to renew automatically. Monthly memberships will automatically renew each month. Annual memberships will renew each year (we’ll send you a reminder 7 days before). You can turn off auto-renew at any time and your membership will stay active until the end of your membership.
Q. What are your cancellation and refund policies?
A. You can cancel your monthly or annual membership anytime. Monthly memberships are not eligible for refunds.
For annual memberships, you can get a full refund if you cancel in the first 30 days by emailing us at member@moneyfortherestofus.com. No refunds are given for annual memberships after the first 30 days.
Q. Can I listen to the Plus episodes and other audio content on my mobile device or in my car while commuting?
A. Yes. Money for the Rest of Us Plus is optimized for mobile devices as more than 50% of members access content via their mobile phones or tablets. There is a member-only RSS feed for all audio content including the ad-free version of the regular podcast. This RSS feed can be added to the most popular podcasting apps. There is also a Money for the Rest of Us Plus mobile app for iOS and Android.
Q. Does Money for the Rest of Us Plus contain model portfolios for individuals with different goals, life stages, and risk profiles?
A. Yes. The site contains over a dozen model portfolios with specific ETF fund holdings weights ranging from “Ultra-Conservative” to “Aggressive” risk profiles. There are adaptive models that adjust based on market conditions and simple static models that do not change. Please note the model portfolios contain ETFs and mutual funds that trade on U.S. exchanges. There is a list of substitute UCITS holdings for European investors. The site also contains an asset allocation modeling spreadsheet so you can compare different asset allocation scenarios to evaluate their expected rates of return and risk of capital loss.
Q. Will I be able to see all of David Stein’s investment holdings?
A. Yes. You will also see his overall asset allocation weights and portfolio trades.
Q. Why does annual membership cost $450 per year?
A. Money for the Rest of Us Plus is not an investment newsletter. It is a comprehensive multi-media investment education platform with professional-grade portfolio tools and training. We draw upon institutional investment and economic research services that cost tens of thousands of dollars per year to access. To put it in perspective, an annual membership to Money for the Rest of Us Plus costs less than one credit hour at most U.S. 4-year colleges, which ranges from $230 to $1,150 according to the College Board.
